Keeping all you emotions in balance

Story telling has been used for centuries to explain how things work! Ali Knowles tells Ollie about a boy flying a kite so that Ollie understands that he needs all emotions, good and 'bad', but in the right balance and it's up to him how he wants to feel.

Keeping our emotions in balance

We need all our emotions, good and, what we supposedly call, bad but in the right balance.  For example, if we didn't have Scared we would just cross the street without looking. If we didn't have Sad how would we know if we were Happy.  But sometimes one of our emotions gets too big, taking control of how we are feeling and therefore affecting our behaviour.

Ali is a great story teller, using stories with her clients to describe situations so that children and adults understand how their emotions are affecting their behaviour, helping them to find solutions to get everything back in balance.

The Kite Story is a great way to introduce emotions to children.

The Kite Story has also been made into a little book which you can purchase by clicking here.
