My name is Sam Cleasby and I run the blog So Bad Ass, I'm a health activist, writer and public speaker. I write about women's issues, from parenting to self esteem, body confidence, work and life. Living with chronic illness, my life with Ulcerative Colitis spurred me to begin my blog (www.sobadass.me) where I journal my illness, surgeries and recovery. Having an ostomy and now an internal j pouch inspired me to share my passion for loving yourself with others. I write for several publications and do public speaking, events and workshops, bringing confidence, joy and a bad ass spirit to women all over the UK.

As a parent, can I just say, I have no clue what I'm doing

I have three kids aged 15, 13 and 11. From the outside, I appear to have it all in hand. My kids are polite, friendly and fun to be with. I have managed to get to this point without losing them (apart from that one time on Blackpool Pier), killing them in a stupidity accident or them hating me. I also write about life as a parent, apparently giving the public the illusion that I know what the fuck I am doing...

Mummy Tummy? I don't think so!

I am sick of hearing the term 'mummy tummy' bandied about by the press, not a day goes by without seeing some celebrity being judged by their shape and size. They used this cringe inducing name 'mummy tummy' as if using a cutesy term negates from the fact they are shaming women for their body shape and propagating ideals of negative body image for women.
