What If You Can Overcome Your Procrastination?
I lost the plot big time, I went cuckoo bananas today like never before. It's like this pandemic's effect start to affect me, and I'm not too fond of this for a bit.
And an old habit is coming back to the surface. One, I tackled front, right and centre, and seeing its head popping in my mind makes me boil inside.
The result? I'm putting off things to do, like complete this new project because I want it to be perfect from head to toe. The problem is, the more I'm postponing to work on it, the less I'll have a chance to complete the way I want to.
And this is where I beat myself up thinking I'm lazy; I should be better (hello Self-Sabotage Land!) when actually I need to recharge my batteries before working on it.
Here's the thing: it's only when I identified my avoidance archetypes, being a perfectionist and a self-deprecator that I managed to overcome my procrastination and achieve my goals faster.
So, yes, old habits can come back to the surface but can be sent straight back to the Archives when you know how to overcome them.
