The Imagination and the Iron

Uncrease Your Clothes and Your Life

Hello and Happy New Year.

Slightly belatedly, but our inboxes are overflowing at the start of the year and really what is the hurry?

As you know if you’ve been reading and following my musings for a while, I am currently curious about and investigating energy. This is partly since I discovered human design as it turns out energy is something I don’t naturally have that much of and I’m getting to know how I function naturally instead of berating myself for not fitting into the standard model of doing things because, if I’m honest, that has never worked for me and guess what? It isn’t supposed to - who knew?!

So the other day I was doing the ironing and as I filled up the iron it occurred to me that in terms of energy we are like the iron.

We pour the water in at the top, the water transmutes into steam and our clothes are no longer creased. When we are done we turn it off and let it rest.

If we try to use the iron without the water, it cannot create steam and our clothes remain creased with scorch marks where the iron can’t run smoothly. The iron cannot function, it overheats and burns out. It is essentially broken.

In the case of ourselves:

We put in water/food etc, it transmutes into energy to ‘get stuff done’, the jobs get done and then we can rest.

When the iron has run out of water what do we do? We are fortunate enough that we can go to the tap and pour it into the iron. We go to the place where the water/energy is and replace what we have used.

If we try to function without water/food/rest (as I have often done in the past), we cannot create energy. Our stuff doesn't get done and we go round in circles doing other meaningless things as we can’t rest till the jobs we needed to do get done. We cannot function, we burn out and only then do we rest, still without the stuff getting done, we are essentially broken.

What can we do about it?

When we have things to do which are unfamiliar and scary, things we want to perform but, having never done them before, the prospect seems exhausting, we can go to the place where the results have already happened in our minds and find the right kind of energy to fulfil the desire we want. This might sound a bit out there but if something so intangible as steam can uncrease our clothes then something as intangible as imagination can uncrease our lives.

Just because it isn’t so obvious, doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

Just because you stop believing in the tooth fairy/Santa/easter bunny doesn’t mean you stop expecting money/gifts/chocolate. And in most cases, when you no longer believe in those things, you still believe you get the rewards, and you usually do. So who is to say that if you believe in the power of your creative imagination, you won’t be similarly rewarded?

Over at my website you can get your free Creative Visualisation workbook and find out for yourself.

If you want to take it a step further, my  life redesign package is ‘choose what you pay’ for the whole of January.
