Mid Table at Best?

Where are you on your personal league table?

The other day I was talking to my husband about football (keep reading, this is not about sport). My husband supports one of the big clubs that is always near the top of the league. I support the local club from where I grew up and who have much less money and resources. I heard myself say ‘Well we’re mid-table at best’, as in being average is all we can hope to achieve.

Then I thought why? Is it really because our players aren’t as good and the coaches less experienced? Or is it a mindset of limitation over what is possible?

There has been the occasional season when outsiders have topped the table.

It led me to question whether I think I am mid table at best. Do I think I can have everything I truly want in my life? If not why not? Does my intellect prevent me from further success? My social status, location or my past? Where am I on my personal league table?

One thing I know for sure is that I am way higher in my league than I was twenty years ago, but there are still a lot of things I would like to achieve. How close am I to attaining those goals and does how close I think I am matter? Yes it does!

We are less likely to try a giant leap than a few short steps to success.

So, in terms of what you want in your life, where are you on your personal league table? What is holding YOU back from winning the league, claiming the title, writing the book or starting the business?

At the other end of the league table is the relegation zone; the three teams who finish at the lower end of the table, are relegated to the next division down. I invite you to relegate some unhelpful thought patterns, habits or beliefs. At the same time cheer yourself on with every challenge, idea and stepping stone. See yourself winning!

I’ve attached a little exercise for you, a simplified version of a Creative Meditation along the lines of what we might do in a self discovery session or in a one to one coaching session.

You can download your league table HERE.

Try it for free and let me know how you get on.

I’d love to know your insights and how you felt doing this Creative Meditation, especially as you work your way to the top of the league!
