2020. Love it or hate it.
For me, It’s been a year of growth, healing deep parts of myself, learning, connecting with my intuition and developing myself to a point I would have never considered possible.
There have been many tough moments, but they say that from the most difficult situations arise the best opportunities… It’s about learning how to surf the wave.
I’ve been doing A LOT of meditation and inner work recently, more than ever.
I’ve been spending extra time in nature, walking barefoot on the grass, contemplating the trees, ponds and animals in the parks near where I live.
A few weeks ago I found myself lost in a huge park. Although I felt I was walking in the right direction, I had no idea where I was.
I suddenly found myself at the beginning of a really long path surrounded by trees. All I could see was the path I was walking along and trees on both sides. No people, no noise, just me, the path and the trees.
And out of nowhere I had the inspiration to do this visualisation exercise. I’ve been doing it a few times a week since that day and I’ve been feeling better than any other time in my life.
After I do it I feel replenished, empowered and completely in charge of my life. Not to mention that I’ve started to see some things already materialising!
I'm finding it so useful that I thought I had to share it with everyone.
It’s basically a walking meditation in nature where you visualise yourself walking into the life you want to create and stepping into your ‘new you’.
Here is how to do it:
1.Go to a park or somewhere in nature and look for a path or something that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a path.
The longer and quieter the better! It can also be a quiet road if you don’t have access to a park. If there is too much noise around, try listening to classical music.
If you don’t live near any parks or green areas, you can also just visualise yourself walking along a quiet, beautiful, long path. However, I’ve found that the effectiveness of doing this visualisation as a walking meditation it is worth spending some time getting to a beautiful spot.
2.Make a list of how you want your life to be.
What do you want to improve? What do you want to attract? How will you feel when you achieve it? How does the ‘new you’ behave? What does the life you truly want to live look like? It might be a good idea to spend some time journaling to get clarity before you do the exercise.
3.This exercise will only work if you truly believe it can happen.
There might be some limiting beliefs operating in the unconscious. So before you start visualising or doing any type of vision board exercises, it’s a good idea to assess and revise your beliefs to make sure there are no inner stoppers.
4.Start walking (or visualise yourself walking) and, with every step, visualise yourself becoming the ‘new you’, walking closer to the life you want to create for yourself.
Visualise in detail what you will be doing, how you will be feeling, the more details you can see, the better.
Visualise yourself stepping into your power, becoming the woman you want to become, following your purpose.
5.While doing the visualisation, make sure you connect with an elevated emotion (gratitude, love, joy).
It is the power of the vibration of these elevated emotions that will help you be on the right path and attract things that are in the same frequency. Like attracts like, so your mindset, your thoughts and emotional state will determine the events and people you will attract and experience.
6.When you finish your walking visualisation, sit for a few minutes feeling grateful for your new life before you get on with your day.
Listen to your intuition, you might get some inner guidance or have an ‘eureka’ moment.
If you manage to find a really quiet place with nature around, expect magical things to happen!
BONUS for women – optimising the effectiveness of this exercise based on your cycle.
There are two natural rhythms that are closely linked to our feminine nature: our own hormonal cycle and the moon’s cycle.
If you are doing this exercise in the first half of your cycle (days 1-14 considering your period starts in day 1 and assuming an average 28 day cycle), you will probably feel more positive and confident so try to visualise where you’re heading, the traits you want to improve or nourish or what you want to create.
Same applies during the waxing moon (period between new moon and full moon).
If you are doing the exercise in the second half of your cycle (after ovulation, days 15-28), you might feel more connected with the energies of letting go, so emphasise your visualisation on what you want to leave behind, maybe an old belief, a pattern, a period of your life etc.
Same applies to the waning moon (between full moon and new moon)
If your period is not aligned with the moon (this topic is for another article!), don’t worry too much about the day you’re doing it.
These are general guidelines, but ultimately, GO WITH WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOU.
The details are not that important, just start the walking visualisation and flow with your inner guidance.
