I have been humming Shirley Bassey’s ‘Big Spender’ in the office this month, as we explore the idea that money isn’t the key to happiness, and that being wealthy means far more than just having money. ‘As a society, we’re growing richer every year, yet people’s experience of life doesn’t feel richer,’ says Nic Marks, founder of Happiness Works and creator of The Happy Planet index and one of our main experts in our special ‘Rich in Spirit dossier’.

So what will make you feel richer? I’m proud to say that with everyone from our cover star Eva Longoria using her fame to bring the Global Gift Gala to London this month to Anne Lamott sharing her insights from her new book Small Victories: Spotting Improbable Moments of Grace to India Knight giving us the lowdown on how to be older, wiser and happier, this issue is bursting from every page with those who are are truly rich in spirit. We’ve even got special guest Oprah Winfrey, queen of our Rich In Spirit list beaming her wisdom from our back page.

Our cover conversation was hosted by our very own Lifelabber Karen Ruimy, spiritual author and dancer who has created an inspiring video this week on how she became a Flamenco dancer in her forties and how we can all tap into our authentic dreams.

Imagine if we could cultivate our inner wealth so much this month that we all get to be a ‘big spender’ – in the way we give, interact and love? What if we feel so rich in spirit that we can be a force for good in the world?

I wish you an abundance of love, connection and inspiration this month.

Having taken voluntary severance I am income free & felt very scared. However I am enjoying exploring parts of my life that have been on hold. I feel so much wealthier - money is just one resource. I am there for friends & family, have time for others & myself & have learnt so much. I know I need to work soon & hope I take my new found wealth with me in my future.

Isn't it interesting when we look at all the other resources other than money that makes us happy? I'm working on a having a 'free month' to explore how I can enjoy myself, have fun without cash. I found this in London, which I'm hoping to attend. http://www.connectindia.org/inspired-by-seva-cafe-celebrate-the-spirit-of-kindness-and-generosity/
I love the ethos! Good luck on your new journey, Tania.
