La vie Française...

It's time to go big! These little nudges are starting to snowball...

Participating in The Great Wake Up has been an amazing experience, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what's next. In the meantime, though, I thought I'd share with you all a little adventure the experiment has inspired.

I've always wanted to travel on my own - proper travel, including overnight, not for business and with no one to please but myself. And, more than anything I've wanted time for a little solo flânerie in Paris, that most romantic of cities for finding yourself and dreaming bit dreams. But there were always a million reasons not to - it's not cheap, I'm not brilliant at speaking French, I won't have anyone to fall back on if things go wrong... But yesterday, because it's time to live the life I want, not just dream about it, I finally booked it!

In a just a few months, I'm off on the Eurostar for a solo mini-break to find out what's around the corner in Paris. I'm still slightly in shock - I don't do risk, or impulsive - but I also can't keep this dirty great grin off my face!

Avoir de grands rêves, mes amis!

Wow that's amazing and very brave - wow, I'm speechless! Sometimes I think about going off on my own. Today in fact I thought about my birthday in September being a break away for me alone but I really would miss Sarah and Bobby. I know it's pathetic but I'm just being honest I'd miss them terribly. Sarah's my best friend and Bobby he's just a lovable stink who I love to death! I wish you all the best for your trip and I hope you get something massive from it. You deserve that because of your bravery. All the very best wishes from me to you.

This is a first for me as well, going abroad (not for work) alone, I mean... I think the butterflies are mostly excited and not nervous... I decided it was time to live like the kind of person I admire (and envy...)
