For this week's assignment, the first past the halfway point, Chris challenged us to take a different walk of life - literally.

I am the first to admit that I can be pretty set in my ways - my morning routine, up to starting Great Wake Up has been fairly similar for every workday. Therefore the challenge this week of changing up the way we made our way around our daily lives - changing existing routines and paths into new ways of doing.

A lot of this challenge was a bit tricky to get into the swing of - as I said before, my routine can be pretty solid and dependable - but I started off small. When I went to run an errand for work, I took a longer route I knew and ended up going through a beautiful herb garden that my place of work has to offer.

I did some work over the weekend and took a different route back down into the city centre and while I didn't stumble across anything amazing or unusual, it gave me chance to see the city that I never see. I paid more attention to my surroundings and even turned my music off so I could hear everything.

Would I continue this in the future? Not daily. I like my routines, even as boring as it sounds; however, I'm already more open to trying out new routes and exploring the mundane everyday a little more. Here's to finding a new path or two...
