Feel complete: Join our 360me journey
The pursuit of better health should be a joy - never a chore or a bore, says our Health + Wellness Director, Eminé Ali Rushton
A year ago we asked you, the reader, which area of your life you most wanted to improve upon and the message was received loud and clear – your health and wellbeing. We weren’t surprised, because we want the same thing. We’d all like to feel confident in our skin.
To enjoy every day with energy and optimism. To feel beautiful, and look vital and radiant. To approach health without guilt or rigid goal-setting – to just give things a go, enjoy the process, and take a few small steps in the right direction. We know that without good health, nothing else matters. From all I’ve learned and seen, tried and tested, lived and breathed, I know there is only one way to live and feel well, from top to bottom, inside and out.
Holistic health is about completeness
It is a full circle that joins the dots of ‘you’ – a way of living that reintroduces your mind to your body to your spirit. Holistic health is also about approaching your relationship with your body in a non-reactive way. You are not simply fat or thin; you are not healthy or unhealthy. It is not about end goals or ‘fitspiration’ (please, please, do not stick a picture of your ‘thinnest self’ on your fridge. All that does is tell your mind and body that the ‘you’ you are now is worthless – not true!).
Holistic health is never going to be a simple calorie equation or a tick on a list. It’s time to look past the pit-stops in favour of the journey – every day is a new opportunity to nourish and support your whole self. Every month, I’ll be sharing my own steps on the #360me journey, alongside the mood boosts that have really lifted my spirit.
Our #360me promise:
Our advice will always be balanced, moderate, holistic and realistic. We will never use the word ‘perfect’. We’ll never suggest a ‘diet’. If you are exhausted and simply want to watch Girls on repeat, we’ll be right there beside you. We will be your biggest champion and here to support you.
Every month for the next year, the #360me team will be sharing their baby-steps approach to leading a healthier, happier life – tried, tested, researched and real-life-approved. It’s here for you – to enjoy, to inspire, to guide. Share your #360me journey with us at @psydirector and @psychologiesmagazine.
