Week 14 - Beauty all around!
Taking 5 minutes to notice what is beautiful in my life. Every day!
I have been quite slack over the past few weeks (4 I think!) and haven't documented my experiments. Bad Nadya! Things have been fine - just changed my job and trying to juggle a 10 year old who is going through that tween age and has an answer for absolutely everything I say!
I am back on the experiments and have been trying to do week 14 experiment this week - taking 5 minutes to look at the beauty all around me. Thank god for the change of weather and the Spring time as I think I would have found this so much more difficult when it was grey, miserable and cold!
I am writing this blog on my terrace and I am surrounded by trees, gardens (I am quite high up and can see everyone's gardens!) and a view in the distance of London! It's a lovely place to be and I have tried to spend time here throughout the week soaking up the beauty around me and writing my gratitude list. It's a great way to stay grounded and to start the day.
I have also tried to be more present when I am walking or driving somewhere and just observing what's around me. My favourite thing so far was seeing a lady in her car signing her heart out and dancing whilst sat in traffic! Feeling good is contagious I think and when you see someone else just having an absolute ball, you can't help but smile and feel good too!
Taking 5 minutes to notice the birds tweeting, children playing and laughing, and flowers blooming is lovely and it makes you feel so good always! It never fails. It shrinks and simplifies what we feel are problems in our lives and takes some of the stress away. It also magnifies the beauty that we choose to surround ourselves with in our every day lives and gives hope that everything is ok and will continue to be ok. Or Fabulous!
