Confession: It's Time For Me To Really Slow Down

When I left them, I had tears in my eyes.

Gorgeous, I went through an emotional roller-coaster.

Being a speaker at a business event was scary, exciting and mind-blowing.

The guests were happy, learned and had a lot of breakthroughs.


You know, it's time for me to slow down, really slow down and I invite you to do the same.

Because taking time for you is key to rest and overcome your fears. You cannot do it from a place of hustle and exhaustion.

So today, I invite you to try one of these tips to feel good, grounded and make yourself a priority.

  • Practice powerful gratitude. Taking the time to appreciate where you are, what you do, helps you to slow down and be more present. Instead of listing 3 things for which you are grateful for, try to do it every morning for something that you take it as granted like waking up every day, breathe, feel, touch, see, walk, give a kiss to your loved ones.

  • Journaling. Letting your thoughts run free and let your pen glide on the paper is like giving a mojito to your mind. It helps you to feel more centered and re-connect to yourself. There is always some clutter in your mind aka negative thoughts, worries or fears. Journaling is powerful to realise one important thing: you’re not your thoughts.

  • Create your bubbles of happiness. Block some time in your diary and escape from your routine. Go into your favourite place and order what you like. Switch off your mobile, listen to the music in the background and close your eyes. Escaping from your routine allows you to create more headspace for your thoughts, feelings and needs in order to slow down.

  • Music. Nothing is better to listen to some relaxing music to slow down. Music has a direct effect on the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps your body relax. Music has the power to slow your heart rate and breathing, lower your blood pressure, and it may even trigger your muscles to relax. With all the goodness I’ve got from music, I love listening to some jazz in the evening to start my evening, cozy in my sofa.

  • Meditate. This is my anchor to slow down, perform at my best and shine my light. I don’t know what I would do without it. When my head is spinning with so many things to do, my intuition always guide me to meditate. If you don’t meditate, I recommend you to give a try to Ziva meditation, you’re going to love it. This is the best meditation I’ve ever tried. I practiced it daily.

  • Surround yourself with beauty. Beauty has this ability to make us stop, sigh and just enjoy what we see. A beautiful notebook, a ring that you adore or just having a beautiful picture made all the difference when you’re close to lose your cool. It makes you stop. It makes you connect to your feminine energy and what matters to you.

  • Connect with your body. Having a massage is the perfect antidote to connect with your body, feel grounded and being present. I had one today and it helps me to relax and let it go of revolving thoughts.

  • Choose quality over quantity. When you make this choice, you lead your focus and energy in a more refined way. You take the time to complete your task, you're more attentive to the details and your focus is sharp, intent and grounded.

  • Have a bath with Epsom salts. I love taking the time to prepare mine with candles. It's so soothing, relaxing and excellent to clear your energy. Each time, after doing it, I spritz my pillow with the Neom Pillow Mist. I lay back and breathe this loving scent to have a deep sleep. I always sleep like a baby and feel so good on the morning.

  • Holding space for yourself. What does it mean to hold space for someone else? It means that we are willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey they’re on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to fix them, or trying to impact the outcome. When we hold space for other people, we open our hearts, offer unconditional support, and let go of judgement and control. –Heather Plett

    Allow yourself to be imperfect, make mistakes, fail and learn. Being an entrepreneur is a marathon, not a race. There’ll be up and downs, emotional roller-coasters , small wins, setbacks and buckets of learning. The key to keep going and believe in you and what you do is THIS. Holding space for yourself.

The world needs us (as women) to positively make a difference to make the life of women, children, and future generations better.
