The Great Wake Up! Week 5

Since joining the Great Wake Up! and trialing the experiments, I've found that I'm always looking for ways to compliment others out loud. It's easy to niggle at the negatives but I've found that perhaps I've been dwelling on these too much so my focus has re-alligned. During family time, whether we're doing an activity together such as film night, baking or family outings, I make a conscious effort to ignore my phone, using it only for the camera to capture our fun adventures. I am trying to live in the moment, spending more time outdoors (through choice) and setting time aside for meals out or doing something off our annual adventure list each month. I have spent time with friends and family and encouraged my OH to do the same as it's nice to remember that we're important too, that everything we do does not have to focus on the family. I am still LOVING cooking from scratch; I feel better in myself and we (myself and my OH) are cooking meals together which is an added bonus. In fact, my DS made pizza at school last week and wanted to make his own stuffed crust base, entirely from scratch - total transformation all round! We're all involved in meal planning and we've all contributed to the list of things we'd like to do this year so it's not the adults taking full control, the children are also included in the decision-making which I think is positive for all of us. So far, this year looks brighter and more organised than previous years have been and I'm much happier as a result.

Life is for living.

Much love and best wishes,
