3 Traits Ambitious Women Need To Succeed
I would consider myself to be ambitious, how about you? Do you love to get the most out of life? Do you really enjoy achieving? Do you want to fulfil your potential? Yes…………..? Then you’re just like me...keep reading
Hey I'm Lydia Kimmerling, I have been shortlisted as Psychologies and Hay House's fresh new voice for 2016 and you can help me win by supporting this blog and clicking "VOTE UP" above.
From my own experience and the hundreds of hours I have spent helping ambitious individuals fulfil their potential, I know that these three traits are key for setting yourself up for success.
TRAIT #3: Being seriously focused
I meet lots of awesome people with great ambition BUT their focus is all over the place. They have a handful of different dreams they’re working towards all at the same time and this stops them from being REALLY focused on any of them. Then, because their focus is being split and pulled in five different directions, they get easily distracted.
It’s not their fault, if you’re ambitious then you want to get the most out of life and do as much as you can and that is awesome, but you need to get really clear on what your goals are and work in priority order to achieve them. We are far more likely to succeed if we focus on one thing, giving it 100% of our time and energy, than focusing on five things and giving them 20% of our energy.
TRAIT #2: Taking action without procrastination
Most of us have a good idea about what we need to do to succeed, but we get slowed down by waiting for the right time, a good feeling or for it to look easy before we actually take action. Procrastinating slows everything down and can leave you questioning yourself to the brink of crazy.
The reason we procrastinate is because we either don’t trust our own judgement and are scared we will make the wrong decision or because we haven’t figured out exactly what we do and don’t want in life. As soon as you have a crystal clear vision for your future (say 12 months ahead) it’s much easier to be able to decide in the moment if you’re making the right decision.
TRAIT #1: Not being afraid to get the support you need
The most important and number one trait is not being afraid to get the support you need. I tried to set up Life Cleanse twice before realising flying solo just wasn’t cutting it. I’ve now worked with a number of experts and successful companies to succeed and it was the best decision I could have made. Being ambitious I thought I could do it all by myself and that getting some support would mean I had failed, how wrong was I?
Successful people never do it alone, they have lots of support along the way. Having someone you can rely on for that support keeps you connected to your vision which keeps you focused. It’s a big ask to expect yourself to do everything alone. Whether that is working with someone who is personally holding you accountable, a friend, colleague or family member, reaching out for help is vital.
