Have you ever noticed how successful people just seem to fall on great opportunities? They always seem to be in the right place at the right time. How LUCKY they are...
or, perhaps, it's more about their ability to act on opportunity that sets them apart from the 'also rans'.
So what are they doing differently? Successful people don't create self-imposed barriers. They don't list out all the reasons why now is not a good time, instead they know there is no time like the present to seize an opportunity.
Today's Life Changing Thought is: learn to seize opportunities, learn to say YES instead of LATER.
I recently offered 3 free places for a 1:1 call with me. The people who responded fell in to 2 distinct groups that highlight this particular success mindset behaviour.
Group 1 saw my post, and immediately messaged me. They said YES and asked me WHEN. They booked their call within 1 to 3 hours of seeing my post.
Now, bear in mind there were only 3 spots offered, so time was an important consideration if they really wanted to take advantage of this offer.
Group 2, messaged me immediately, but then did nothing.
The people in Group 1 aren't LUCKY. They don't get opportunities that pass Group 2 by. Both groups were in the same place at the same time, so what made them different? What set Group 1 apart from Group 2 was their desire and ability to take action no matter what.
Now, I talked about procrastination on an earlier post and it's not really part of todays Life Changing Thought, but it's a great example of the pernicious nature of procrastination. You have to be able to spot it in yourself.
People will justify their inaction in their own mind. They'll say things like 'it's the weekend, it can wait until Monday' or 'I'll get to it later' or 'I'm too busy right now' but in truth it's self-sabotage and it stops them from being the LUCKY one and they miss yet another opportunity.
They'll ask themselves why they aren't moving forward, why they don't get the breaks, or why opportunities pass them by or just don't show up. They blame the universe, but in reality it's their own limiting behaviour.
It's never about being LUCKY. It's about taking action.
When you learn to say YES instead of LATER, everything changes.
