Passion for your business getting in the way of a good night's sleep?
Do you have nights where you flail around, awkwardly trying to find the perfect position to fall asleep? Can't imagine why your brain is on hyper drive and your body is on fidgety high alert.
That was me last night and I can pinpoint the exact contributing factors to my frustration.
I invite you to explore what keeps you from falling into blissful rest of an evening as you read.

My two main reasons for not getting off to sleep last night when I really needed it, (I had a 430am wake up call this morning), were choices I forgot to make earlier in the day!
I run my own business which I am totally passionate about and at the moment I am in a creative phase writing and making health and fitness programmes for my online readers. Yesterday I spent the day on many tasks at the computer including sourcing and sending out a 9 question survey asking my community what they want and need from a digital health and fitness offering. Find it here if you want to contribute. I would value your opinion. I also wanted to make changes to my website, edit videos, etc etc.
So, you may wonder what is wrong with all that if I love my work?
Here it is....I started on the computer at 7:00am and with only several stand up breaks I finished at 6:00pm! That is way too long on the computer for me! That is why my brain was rushing around from pillar to post attempting to create more fun stuff.
The second reason I was wide awake at 1:00am was that I had not done any form of movement other than to stand up to make dinner, oh, and go down to the shop to buy eggs. Naughty personal trainer!!! I was so caught up in my work the day flew past. I forgot to make conscious decisions that would benefit my health and wellness.
Watch my "Standing desk break" video to get you up from your work each day!
Contemplate:
Have you ever had one of those days where you thought, "Where did the time go?".
What are your mindful practices in a day that allow you to easily drift off to sleep?
Think about yours, write them down, use post it notes around the office if you need to remind yourself. Then remember to implement them each day.
Perhaps doing a daily meditation helps you focus at work and then sleep well. Maybe, like me, getting your workout in burns off the residual energy and allows your eyes to be heavy when you fall into bed. Or do you have a technology cutoff point late afternoon which gives your mind enough time to come down off the constant whiring of business ideas.
Have fun discovering your daily best sleep practices. Once you know them.... use them.
