Anything is possible.

I’m sitting in my little wooden meditation studio at the end of my garden, which is now my workspace and office for my new business Chatterminds. I often have to pinch myself these days to believe I have created this new life for myself, which is a totally different life compared to the one I was living a year and a half ago.

In short, I was a teacher of 16 years, a job which I loved (well, the working with kids bit anyway), but the job changed and I changed too- into not being very happy (although I didn’t realise quite how unhappy I was until I left).  It took a very unpleasant few months and a ‘fall down a big hole’ to make some changes in my life.

Living with anxiety since childhood, which included emetophobia (a fear of vomit) and depression, I completed a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) course and then I discovered mindfulness…. Which has literally changed my life.

I had a seed of an idea, which has grown (I also believe in the 'Law of Attraction' and have used this to manifest where I am today). I wanted to work with children to help them to navigate their emotions through the ups and downs of life. I am passionate about children’s mental health and wellbeing and wanted to offer a provision to support children in this area. Mindfulness is at the core of Chatterminds, but I use lots of other creative bits and pieces too; things that I have picked up along the way that have worked for me.

So Chatterminds was born! It has been quite a journey. I am certainly not a business woman, and my social media and IT skills leave a lot to be desired, but I am LOVING the challenge. They say, 'Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone' and this has certainly become clear to me. I feel challenged, excited and inspired by the learning that is taking place on a daily basis. I am meeting interesting, lovely like-minded people and am loving every minute. If I make mistakes or have tough days, I am viewing them as opportunities for growth.

If you are at the start of a new path or journey and are unsure about how to move forward, take it from me… anything is possible. With the right support, guidance and mindset, which is available to you here in the Life Labs, you can do it too! Good luck!!
