Wow! We have truly exciting news to share with you today :) Our very own Minded Yoga Therapy for the Mind Eight Week Course has just been studied - and the findings, released ahead of press, published on Pubmed!
The Yoga Therapy for the Mind 8-week course is a comprehensive and evidence-based program for anyone looking to reduce stress or is suffering from anxiety and/or depression. The course combines specific yoga therapy techniques which aim to enhance the functioning of the nervous system to improve well-being, to improve self-awareness through the practice of mindfulness, and promote the support of others by eliminating habitual patterns of thought and behaviour.
This exciting and brand new study explores participant experiences of the Yoga Therapy for the Mind Eight-Week Course (YTFTM), our very own international, manualised yoga and mindfulness-based intervention for depression and anxiety. Eight female participants took part in semi-structured interviews, and transcripts were analysed, with four master themes emerging: "Personal Journey of Change," "Ambivalence," "Mind/Body Connection," and "Group Experience." The findings highlight potential challenges of yoga and mindfulness-based interventions and the importance of providing adequate support in overcoming these. Findings also reveal that participants experience psychological benefits from the practice of yoga asana in addition to mindfulness, such as a more holistic understanding of psychological distress, adaptive coping strategies, and enhanced well-being.
