The most wonderful day!
An update from the post-Wake Up world...
Today is a day I look forward to for months - literally from autumn equinox. It's the winter solstice, which means that the days start getting longer now and, after a few more days of mince pies, I can start dreaming of spring.
It seems the older I get, the more connection I feel to the seasons that mark our passage around the sun. I head a piece on the radio today reflecting on the same thing, and reminding me of the beauty of the winter moon and stars, which we get to enjoy for so many more hours just now.
I love the rhythms of life, and am missing the weekly heartbeat of Wake Up, bringing fresh reflections and connection with the community. And so, looking forward to the coming brighter tomorrows, I'm going to pick up where I left off on my own blog - my reflections on the world around me along with the occasional bit of humour - to keep me connected and growing.
