Chris said from day one that not all the challenges in ‘wake up’ would work for everybody and this week’s challenge proved his point. Week forty one’s challenge was simply to stand up more.

The reason the challenge would have no effect on me was because in my job I’m on my feet 9-11 hours a day, five days out of seven. And for the remaining hours that I’m awake I’m probably on my feet for a further two-four hours. On my days off from work I do lots of walking and I’m on my feet often. When you live at the foot of the Malvern Hills it’s hard not to be inspired to walk them. In fact they entice you to their lofty heights and wonderful charm.

This week’s challenge didn’t reveal anything to me except a nudge to the future when I no longer do the job I’m doing now, the job I’ve done for nearly twelve years, to remember the importance of not having or leading a sedentary lifestyle. For that, the simple challenge of standing up more was worth noting for future reference. Cheers Chris, it’s been noted for future reference.

I can see how the last thing you need is a reminder to stand more... Good to know some of it, at least, is time to "stand and stare" in the gorgeous Malvern Hills!

What lovely views. I think most of the Great Wake-uppers are pretty active people!

What's funny is a lot of the 'wake up' family live in places with outstanding natural beauty even though we all live all over the country. As I've said before the sooner the people in this country realise what a beautiful Island we live on with fang-tastic views everywhere the happier the nation might find itself! We are so lucky!

You certainly do lead a very busy standing up lifestyle Mark! Aren't they the best though. Maybe us stander uppers need to practice a little sitting down instead. xxx

Ha! Of course, you are a total stander-upper, probably desperate for a good old sit down. Pic of the Malvern Hills, a beaut C x
