I know that I am not alone in finding this year the worst for hay fever in some time, which is why I know you'll forgive me for not laying down on the ground...

This week I took a different approach for my sky gazing; after a day of torrential rains on Saturday, I woke up to a beautiful sunny Sunday and the house to myself. This latter was important because we were in a rental cottage with friends, so moments of alone time were precious (and an important factor in my planning...) The sun was streaming down and I took off my socks for a walk in the dewy grass to welcome the sun. I traced the few clouds, enjoyed the sun gilding the trees and then closed my eyes to stare at the sun with my whole being. A perfect moment.

Of all the experiments we have tried through the year, the quiet moments with nature have been the easiest, and hardest. Easiest, because they are already a part of my life, and hardest because I'm conscious of coming to them without the perspective of newness. I use them to reflect on the balance that making time to notice the natural world gives me, and as a reminder of how important it is to make that space in my life.

Vanessa I am the same! I need nature and greenery in my everyday life. I could never go back to living in an inner city! I am pleased you found some stillness in your week.

Hay fever? That's not something to be sniffed at! AHEM (I think I might have pinched that from Tim Vine - sorry). Great to read one of your blogs - yeah-yeah! I love your 'perfect moment' they are superb when you have them. The thing is now we know they're there we can find them on most days. Take it easy.
