We were tasked this week with putting our actual hungers before our eyes - Chris challenged us to only eat when hungry, and at no other time.

This past week in the UK, we've experienced some huge shifts in temperature and weather, which sort of helped me curb the fake-hunger vibes (it turns out that working in an office on the hottest day of the year just makes me tired, thirsty, and a bit grumpy. It also helped instill a behaviour for me for this experiment - every time I was hungry and it wasn't a mealtime, I made sure to have a drink of water first to check that it wasn't dehydration masquerading as hunger.

I will be the first to admit that this challenge was hard for me - as a plus-sized guy, I love my food, and even though I know that snacking is not a good idea, I still do it. This week forced me to push my limitations on how I treat food, and while it might not have completely changed my sweet-tooth, snacking ways, it let me make smaller changes to my daily diet/meal schedule, without crashing and burning. It gave me a little bit of hope that I could, maybe, become a healthier eater - and for that I'll always be grateful...
