Engaging with the General Election
Wake up to politics
Jacqui’s challenge was to engage with the up and coming election. Jacqui I tried to engage in the process I really did. Today I have even had ‘election training’ as every election I work as a Presiding Officer in different towns and villages across the County I live in. At the moment it all feels a little hopeless. There doesn’t seem to be any one party that represents what I want or need at my time in life. I am proud of my Welsh roots and normally vote for my national party however I worry this seems to be a ‘wasted’ vote, as it doesn’t impact who gets in to No 10 and who gets to set the rules to which I will live by for the next five years. I’ve worried and worried about this and still I have no conclusion. I will continue to engage in the hope that in the next two weeks I will have a clearer view of where my cross should go.
